William 'Billy' Cavanaugh, Jr.

William Cavanaugh Jr, of Bethel, CT, died at his home on October 2, 2023. He was 64 years old.

Billy was born on March 9, 1959 in Camden, NJ. He was the son of the late William J. and Josephine Cavanaugh. He graduated from Immaculate High School and attended Western Connecticut State University where he studied criminal justice.

Billy was the life of the party - a generous, caring, spirited, straight-talking man, well known for his charisma and sense of humor. Billy could often be found behind a bar interacting with customers and friends, most recently at Whitlock’s.

Billy was preceded in death by his fiancée LeeAnn Kocka and brothers Patrick and James Cavanaugh. He is survived by siblings Jeanne Alecci, Thomas Cavanaugh, Joseph Cavanaugh and his wife Ellen, Steven Cavanaugh, John Cavanaugh, and Anne Marie Wambold and her husband Daniel, sister-in-law Kathleen Cavanaugh, his nieces and nephews Karen Ciszewski, John Alecci, Daniel and Patrick Wise, Courtney Haynes, Keeley Cavanaugh, and Ashley and Jane Wambold.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 from 5pm-7pm with a service beginning at 6:30pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street). To send the family condolences please visit www.danburymemorial.com.
