William Frank Danecki Sr. left this life behind on December 30th, 2024. He was born on May 20th, 1950 in Adams, Massachusetts to Chester Danecki and Celia Dabrowski.
Growing up in a small Massachusetts town in the Northern Berkshire Mountains, William first gained his great love for the outdoors by going out on picnics with his family and fishing the nearby streams and lakes.
William became a bit of a jack-of-all-trades during his time in the Adam’s Public High school. This was because he had begun to take on all sorts of odd jobs, including working for the Waverly Mill. After his graduation from high school, William found work as a set up man for CNC machines at Amphenol, and he held this position for over 40 years. William remained a very outdoorsy person as an adult, camping all along the Finger Lakes and other scenic areas of the Northeast.
He was an avid runner and belonged to several running clubs. William didn’t only participate in short runs either; in fact, he participated in many 50K, 50-mile, and 100-mile ultra runs. Once, he had participated in a 100-mile ultra run and managed to complete it under twenty-four hours. This feat not only won him a large prize buckle; but also bragging rights. From snowshoe racing in the winter, to trail racing in the spring, wherever William could run: he ran. It was such an important part of his life that his family could count on him having long stretches of unavailability in the summertime due to booking as many races and runs as he could all across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
For all of his running adventures in the many places he traveled, however, William’s most beloved running spot remained Mount Greylock back in his hometown of Adams.
William’s memory is carried on by his son: William F. Danecki Jr.; his siblings: Dorothy Staiti (Joe) and Daniel Danecki (Barbara); along with his many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT. 06810) on January 10th, 2025 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm; with a prayer service to begin at 4:00pm. An additional celebration of life gathering will also take place in the springtime in Adams, MA for local family and friends.
