William "Bill" C. Cyr passed away January 31, 2026 after a 7 month battle with brain cancer. Bill was born March 15, 1961 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Clifford Cyr and Patricia (Gaucher) Cyr.
Bill was very mechanically inclined and loved working with his hands. A jack-of-all-trades, Bill spent his life constructing decks, renovating bathrooms and working on motorcycles and cars. He could often be found in his workshop tinkering with a motor to something, if he could take it apart he could fix it, as many family and friends can attest to.
When Bill wasn't working on a project, he loved spending his time outdoors. He could often be found at Sherwood Island having a picnic and flying kites with his family or going for a hike at Tarrywile Park. Bill especially loved camping and enjoyed his annual camping trips with Jennifer and Connor, making smore's and telling jokes around the campfire. Bill loved spending his time on 2 wheels and could often be found peddling his bike through a park or cruising on his motorcycle around town. Bill was also able to share his love for the outdoors and camping with the boy scouts of Troop 33 in Danbury during his many years as a scout leader.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ana Cyr, as well as his children, Jennifer, Connor, Victor and Renata. Additionally he is remembered by his former wife and mother of Jennifer and Connor, Kathleen Flanagan-Cyr and his siblings: Suzanne Hensen (Bob) of San Diego, Bobbylee Cyr ( Heliane) of Brookfield, Connecticut, Michele Donegan of North Carolina and Dianne Baez of North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Patrick Cyr.
Services will be held Friday February 6th at 11 a.m. at the mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery (71 Lake Avenue Ext Danbury, Ct) with burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Bill's memory to Regional Hospice (30 Milestone Rd, Danbury, CT) in Danbury.
