Wanda Stone Obituary

Wanda M. Stone, of Danbury, CT, died peacefully in the comfort of her home and family on March 26, 2024. She was 93 years old.

Born on June 7, 1930 in Stamford, CT, daughter of the late George and Charity Boughton. She graduated from Bethel High School.

Wanda spent a majority of her life serving others. She enjoyed the food industry so much she dedicated her time as a waitress, bartender, and cook! Wanda began her Waitressing career at the Oasis restaurant in Danbury, CT back in the 60’s until she opened her own restaurant/bar called the Tally-O in Katonah, New York. Wanda then went on to owning a small diner in Danbury, CT, to running around with her hot dog truck, and then finishing her career in the kitchen of Mac’s Halfway.

Wanda enjoyed playing basketball, dancing to her rock and roll, camping, gardening, baking for her family, sewing, and taking care of animals.

Wanda is survived by her loving daughter Leora Washburn, and her loving grandchildren Richard Washburn JR, Brian Hawkins, Karen Kochies, Ryan Washburn, and Sabrina Washburn.
Her great grandchildren Emily Szaley, Jahziyah DeLuca, Richard Washburn III, Ruslan, Mason, Braden Kochies, and Madelynn Barbera. Her loving great great grandchild Gavin Szaley.She was predeceased by her loving daughter Pamela Hawkins.

A celebration of life gathering will held on April 6th from 2-5 at the American Legion Post 60 (138 triangle Street, Danbury) for anyone who wishes to celebrate her and support the family. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements.
