Walter Isaacs Obituary

Walter L. Isaacs of Danbury, 81, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2022. He was born on December 24, 1940, in Medford, Massachusetts to Walter and Alice Isaacs.
Walter spent his formative years in West Medford enjoying community sports and cultivating his love of art and music and teaching himself how to paint, play the guitar, and piano. After graduating from Medford High, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts, Communications at Goddard College and a Masters of Public Health Administration from the University of North Carolina School of Public Health, Chapel Hill, NC.

Walter’s love for books and reading was well known. He could almost always be seen with his current title or two in hand or surely close by. He appreciated all genres and had a soft spot for Charles Shultz’s Charlie Brown. He loved spending time with his family, especially summering on Martha’s Vineyard, an Isaacs tradition since the early 1960s.
As a Healthcare Executive, Walter served as CEO of Henry J. Austin Health Center, Trenton, NJ and Executive Director of Schenectady Family Health Services, Schenectady, NY, Memphis Health Center, Memphis, TN, Roxbury Dental and Medical Clinic, Roxbury, MA, and Health Administrator for The Council’s Center for Problems of Living, Harlem, NY. He served on numerous community, health, and finance board of directors.

Walter is survived by his wife Jayne of 42 years; his children, Leslie and Herbert McCoy of Atlanta, GA; Peter and Ivona Isaacs, Fleming Island, FL; Emory and Melissa Isaacs, Waterbury, CT; Garrett and Natalia Isaacs, Murrieta, California; Aaron and Sarah Isaacs, West Hartford, CT; and Mahlori Isaacs, NYC, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Corbin Michael; Twins, Krystyna and Krystian; Alexis and Emel; Brooks, and twin sisters, Selah and Auden; and great-grandchildren, Imani Renee and twin brothers, Adonis and Amias.  Walter was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cynthia Isaacs.
