Victor Manuel Cruz

Victor Manuel Cruz who his friends fondly referred to him as “Sweetz” or “Chachi” passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital. 

Victor was born on January 9, 1973 in Danbury, CT to Victor Cruz and Maria Colon.  He was a go getter and worked hard at his craft to obtain what he needed and wanted. “Chachi” loved listening to Notorious B.I.G and Big Pun which were a couple of his favorite rappers. He was also a Dallas Cowboy and Miami Heat fan. “Sweetz” had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a people person and was very well known and loved! He loved spending time with his friends and family. Before he left any event, he would always stop and say, “Love is love”! 

Victor is predeceased by his brother, Eddie Joe Sweeney. He is survived by his father, Victor Cruz and his mother, Maria Colon. His three children, Tyesha Cruz, Victor Cruz, and Mystique Cruz. His grandchildren, Zanari  Setal and Inara Cruz. His siblings: 2 brothers, Kenneth Sweeney and Tyrone Sweeney and sister, Natalia Cruz. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Victor was LOVED and will be truly missed!

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Canaan Institutional Baptist Church on 31 Concord St., Norwalk CT 06854 from 6pm to 8pm. 

A 2nd Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday October 15, 2021 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home on 117 South St, Danbury CT 06810 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:30 p.m. The services on Friday will be live streamed, please find the link below in the Service Details section.
