Upon retirement, Tom kept busy as a volunteer for the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Food Bank. He taught chess at the senior center and men-tored children for the Board of Education .
Tom’s love life was magical, truly a love story, and in 1981 he met Barbara Jordan. However, they followed their individual paths and reunited twenty years later as soulmates. Tom and Barbara married on December 6, 2001.

Tom was predeceased by his daughter Regina in 2015.
