Stephen Sniffin Obituary

Stephen G. Sniffin, of Danbury, CT, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2026. He was 76 years old.

Born on January 8, 1950 in Syracuse, NY son of the late Richard Royal and Anna (McGrail) Sniffin. As a young child Stephen’s family moved to Danbury, CT. Stephen was a 1967 graduate of Immaculate High School. He served in the Air Force, and was stationed in both Guam and Montana.

Steve was a milkman with Marcus Dairy for many years until he started driving semi trucks for A&L Russo Inc., based in Danbury, CT, until his retirement. He also took great pride in being one of Santa's helpers, and dressed up as Santa for years during toy drives.

Steve's greatest joy was his family and all those he considered to be family.  He rarely went anywhere without seeing someone he knew, and took immense pride in his sobriety. He was big huggable teddy bear and had an amazing sarcastic sense of humor.

He was the epitome of to know him is to love him. He was always the first to hug you, and made sure you knew he loved you. He was famous for his stories, although he may never have actually finished telling them.

Steve is not only survived by his wife of 21 years, Anita Gasparre, who he adored, but also his children; Kimberly Scharstein, Stephannie Archer (Ed), Samantha Cole (Randy) and Lisa McGinness (Brandon), his grandchildren; Andrew, Tyler, Jillian, Matthew, Eliza, Jackson, and Devin, as well as his brother; Brendan. He was predeceased by his parents; his siblings; Richard, Roger and Sheila and his daughter Jodi.

A private cremation will be held per his wishes. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements. To send the family condolences please visit www.danburymemorial.com
