Stacey A. Purcell, 56, of New Milford, CT, passed away on Sunday, March 30th, 2025. She is survived by her husband, Robert Byers, and their sons Phenix, Reagan, and Brendan Byers and her beloved fur baby Gus; her mother, Judith Purcell; sisters Suzanne Purcell, Sheilah Purcell (Richard Dugdale), and Colleen Purcell (Stephen Busch); as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was recently predeceased by her father, Francis J. Purcell Jr.
Born in New Rochelle, NY, she grew up in Danbury, CT and attended Danbury High School before proceeding to Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA, where she captained the equestrian team. Following college, she relocated to McDonough, GA, where she raised her family.
Stacey was a dedicated mother to her three sons, staying at home with her young children full-time, and spending many days supporting their baseball teams and other activities. She then went on to pursue a rewarding career with Delta Airlines, during which time she forged lifelong friendships, and her presence will be greatly missed.
Stacey served as a board member of Maegan's Warrior Foundation, an HLH awareness charity and volunteered to support the Teed Up For a Cure cancer foundation's annual golf fundraiser for 20 years. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Scarrybrooke Park Haunted Trail in Connecticut along with her family.
Stacey was known for her stylish fashion sense, epic shopping journeys and for having an unbelievably positive influence on those around her in life. She was an avid reader, cherished social gatherings with the girls, trips to the beach with friends, spending time with her family in Connecticut, and preparing large homemade meals for her family. Her sweet, kind, loving, and joyful soul will forever be remembered by all who loved her.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford on Friday, April 11th at 11:00 AM.
