Sovann Heng, born on February 2, 1939, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 86. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her.
Sovann was the beloved mother of three children: Vickyanna Sinn and her husband Hoeng Loeung, Vinney Sinn, and Ratha Sin and his wife Sreylon Sin. She was also a proud and cherished grandmother to six grandchildren: Alex Loeung, Amanda Loeung, Dominic Sin, Vanessa Sin, Malenie Sinn and Aaron Sinn.
She will be remembered for her gentleness, inner strength, nurturing spirit, and the unwavering love she gave to her family. Sovann’s legacy lives on in the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren—kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street, Danbury, CT, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a cremation service to follow at Stone Family Crematory, 125 Bullet Hill Road, Southbury, CT.
Please also join Sovann’s family for a Buddhist memorial ceremony on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Preah Buddha Rangsey Temple of Connecticut, 510 Danbury Road, New Milford, CT. The ceremony schedule is as follows:
9:30 a.m.: Arrival of Buddhist devotees and guests
10:00 a.m. –10:50 a.m.: Paying homage to the Triple Gem, observing the Five Precepts, and Dhamma chanting
10:50 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.: Offering food to the monks, continued chanting, and dedication of merits to Mrs. Sovann Heng
11:20 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Lunch served to the monks
12:00pm- 1:30 p.m.: Lunch served to devotees and guests
