Shirley Mae Brown went home to her Lord and Savior on July 7th, 2024. She was born on May 10th, 1938 to Eldner and Lucy (Council) Smith in Bethel, North Carolina.
Shirley was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who had a love for gardening, flowers, singing to her birds Ollie and Sunny, taking a trip to the grocery store or simply sitting on her porch enjoying life. Shirley’s soulful cooking brought friends and loved ones together from near and far touching hearts and souls one plate at a time.
Shirley is survived by her loving children: Patricia Brown, Lee Anthony Brown (Rebecca), Shirley Brown and daughter- in-law Debra. She is also survived by her siblings: Mattie Faye Dickens (Jessie), Launia Brown, and George Smith (Sarah).In her lifetime, Shirley was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she loved with her whole heart; this includes: Jaquam Howard, Kawana Brown, Alexander III, Briana Brown, Anthony, Darryl, Deshana Brown, Jada, Zaria, Ella Brown, Zyniah, Zaviohn Bunn.
Shirley has been reunited in Glory with her husband: Alexander Brown Sr.; and her children: Darryl Patrick and Alexander Brown Jr.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday July 20, 2024 from 10 am to 11am followed by a Celebration of life service to begin at 11am at The First Assembly of God Church, 133 Junction Rd Brookfield CT.
