Sherry Brunner Marino was born on October 29, 1955, to Dale and MaryAnn (Jacobson) Brunner. She grew up in Napoleon, North Dakota, and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1973.
In 1979, Sherry joined the United States Air Force, where she served honorably. While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, she met the love of her life, Rick Marino, and they later spent time together in Germany. The two were married on June 26, 1980. After completing their service, they eventually settled in Danbury, Connecticut, where they built a life together until her passing.
Sherry is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Marino; two sons, Troy Marino (Carol Hudson) of Roseburg, Oregon, and Bob Marino (Melissa) of Waterbury, Connecticut; and one daughter, Mandi Somers (Ray). She was a proud grandmother to three grandsons: Daemon Marino of Billings, Montana; Brandon Marino; and Jonathan Marino of Waterbury, Connecticut.
She is also survived by her sister, Kathy Dewald (Mark) of Bismarck; and three brothers, Dean Brunner of Memphis, Tennessee; Hank Brunner (Michelle) of Jamestown, North Dakota; and Bruce Brunner of Bismarck. Additionally, she leaves behind two nephews, Levi Dewald of Bismarck and Dean Brunner Jr. of Tennessee, as well as three nieces, Crystal Thompson (John) of Bismarck, Katie Dewald (Alex) of Bismarck, and Mary Brunner of Memphis, Tennessee.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and MaryAnn Brunner, as well as her brothers, Randy Brunner and Robert Brunner.
She had a deep love for traveling, gardening, and cultivating beautiful plants and flowers. She also loved nature and animals, and she cherished time spent with family, making it a priority to return to North Dakota for reunions. Sherry took great pride in her roots and was always proud to say she was from North Dakota.
Her love, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Private services for the family will be held in Connecticut and North Dakota later in the year at their convenience.
