Sherry Anne (Woodin) Ludovicy, 61, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 in Danbury, CT with her daughter, Kayla D. (Ludovicy) Woodin and sister, Diane (Woodin) Miller by her side. Sherry was born on January 13, 1963, in Mount Kisco, NY. She is the daughter of the late Lois (Whittlesey) and Edward Woodin. Sherry grew up in Danbury, CT and always had pride in calling herself a ‘Danbury Girl’. She later moved to Bethel, CT where she attended Bethel High School.
Anyone who spent time with Sherry knows that she was very outgoing and charismatic. She could talk to anyone and make them laugh within the first few minutes of meeting. She had the mentality that it's better to live a life filled with laughter than one that is quiet. Although she showed a tough exterior to the world, at her core Sherry radiated a compassionate and loving energy to those closest to her. She would lend an ear to anyone who needed one. She always was there to share her wisdom, advice, and what she learned from her life experiences. While sometimes her brutal honesty got her in trouble, it was a quality that the people around her appreciated. Sher could easily be described as someone who was meant to be a mom because of her deeply caring, protective, and supportive nature. She became a second mother to many of her children’s friends earning her the nickname of ‘Mama Sherry’.
To simply say that Sherry loved being a mom would be an understatement. She always shared that everything she did in life, she did for her two children. Sherry was a remarkably dedicated mother to her son, Guy W. Treszi Jr., Manheim, PA and her daughter, Kayla D. (Ludovicy) Woodin, Danbury, CT. She was also the proud grandmother of Hope Treszi, Lancaster, PA. She showed great pride in all the accomplishments of her children, always boasting about them to everyone she met. She shared an unbreakable bond with her daughter Kayla. She showed what it means to be a strong, independent, resilient woman who doesn't go down without a fight.
Sherry held a strong love and appreciation for her family, she cherished the bonds and relationships she grew with her children, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Sherry was the youngest of seven children and would proudly shar about being ‘The Baby’ of the family. Her siblings included William “Billy” G. Woodin, New Milford, CT; Diane (Joe) Miller, Bethel, CT; Elizabeth “Betty” Lee, Murrells Inlet, SC; Kathleen “Kathy” Zadora, Waterbury, CT; Richard (Sharon) Woodin, Murrells Inlet, SC; and the late Elaine (Chris) Haggerty. She was known fondly as “Aunt Sher” by her many nieces and nephews.
