Sharon A. Mathews, a lifelong resident of Danbury, CT, passed away after a long and courageous battle at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was 75 years old.
Sharon was born on January 6, 1949 in Danbury, CT. She was the daughter of the late Bonnie Mathews Morris and the late Theodore Mathews. Sharon was a Danbury High School graduate and attended Henry Abbott Technical High School to receive her LPN.
Sharon worked as an LPN in many different healthcare settings throughout her life. She was a very talented seamstress; even designing and sewing her sister’s wedding dress. She also enjoyed crocheting in her free time. Sharon loved to go hiking and bike riding. Her greatest joy in life though was her family, she adored her great nieces and nephews.
Sharon is survived by her beloved sister; Gail Simao and her husband Joseph, her niece Amy Sendewicz and her husband Eric, her nephews Alan Carlo and his wife Casey and Adam Simao and his wife Andrea. Her great nieces; Jessica, Jaclyn, Julia, Jenna and Paige and her great nephews; Logan and Gavin. She will be greatly missed by her family.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) on Friday December 20, 2024 from 5pm-7pm. Interment will be private.
