Sandra Grehl passed away in her childhood home on October 9th, 2020 in Danbury, Connecticut. Sandra was born on April 13th, 1942 in The Bronx, New York to the late Frank Grehl Senior and Antoinette Cholewa Grehl. Sandra, known as Nannie by her grandchildren, was known for her steadfast, determined personality as well as her intelligence as a quality control inspector. She is described by her children and grandchildren as an open-hearted and warm mother/grandmother, who was always one to welcome all with open arms.
She was adored by all who knew her and she loved everyone she met just as much. She lived for her grandchildren and took pride in everything they did, always being known as everyone’s cheerleader, whether or not you were to succeed. She enjoyed Friday drinks with her close friends and dances at the Polish Club and being a member of both the Moose Club and the Concordia Society. She cherished basketball games, dance recitals, pageants, discussions of both cars and politics, and lunch at JK’s.
Sandra is survived by her two siblings, brother Frank Grehl Jr. (wife Mary Jo) and sister Carolyn Harriman. Her four beloved children, son Ernest Hefferon (wife Brenda), son Edward Hefferon, daughter Antoinette Marie Hefferon, and her daughter Natalie Sauli (husband Michael). Her nine grandchildren: Amanda Behari (fiancé Craig Demo), Matthew Hefferon (wife Philomena), Vincenzo Sauli, Elle Sauli, Joelene Hefferon, Connor Hefferon, Phoebe Khare, and two beloved and adored great-grandchildren Zoe Demo and Shyla Demo. She is predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Hefferon.
A celebration of life gathering will be live streamed on Friday October 16Th from 4:00 Pm to 6:00 Pm.
