Sahodra Mohamed, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was 69 years old.
Born in Cane Grove, Guyana on December 11, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Gango (Jhagu) Suambar. Sahodra was married to the love of her life Khalil Mohamed until his passing in 2012. Following the death of her husband Sahodra came to the United States to be closer to her family.
Sahodra was a great cook. She loved to entertain others; her moto in life was ‘you give, don’t ask’. No one ever went hungry or thirsty when they were around her. She truly believed in the gift of an education and pushed not only her children to work hard in school but also her grandchildren. Granny was loved by all who knew her.
Sahodra is survived by her loving children; Radha Rose and Anand Mohamed, her daughter-in-law Pamela, her grandchildren; Nadia and Timothy, her grand dog Lesley, her nieces and nephews; Shoba, Somna, Aruna, Sudesh, Rajin, Daro, Jitto and Mahin and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Les Rose and her siblings; Bayta and Willie Joe.
Prayer Services will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2023 from 9am-10:30am at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury). A cremation ceremony will follow at Brookside Memorial Crematory (200 Benson Road, Middlebury).
