Ruth Mae Golder, 97, of New Milford CT, passed away on January 31, 2025.
Ruth was born May 29, 1927 in Brewster NY to Otto and Florence Hermann. After high school Ruth moved to Danbury CT and married her love Andrew L. Golder who predeceased her on February 4, 2004 in Talladaga AL.
After marriage in 1951, Ruth gave birth to two children, daughter Theresa (Terry) Wilson and son Darrel Golder. Over the years, Ruth worked in manufacturing at Davis & Geck, American Cyanamid, Eagle Pencil/Berol Company. Upon retirement they moved to Talladega AL in 1991. Ruth loved creating and maintaining flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member and regular attender of the St. Simon Peter Episcopol Church in Pell City AL.
In 2010, Ruth moved back to Connecticut to live with her daughter Terry in New Milford. She enjoyed collecting coins, watching Animal Planet and supporting multiple animal rescues. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Andrew L. Golder, son Darrel Golder and great grandson Keenan Williams-Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Wilson and her partner Darnell Fikes of New Milford CT, granddaughter Justine Wilson and her husband Carlos Calhoun of Middlebury CT, granddaughter Stephanie Wilson and her husband Peter (Dee) Asiedu of Waterbury CT, grandson Aaron Wilson and his wife Catherine Wilson of Westminster MD, granddaughter Peggy Aagard and her husband Cody Aagard of Salt Lake City UT, grandson Chuck Golder and his wife Karen Golder of Newtown CT, great grandsons Sydney Wilson-Asiedu of Dundalk MD, Quinten Asiedu of Waterbury CT, Aidan Wilson of Thomaston CT, great grandson Dylan Golder, great granddaughters, Lyric Aagard, Adalyn Wilson and Evra Wilson and great-great grandson Kalen Alberto-Asiedu.
