Roy Fowler, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut, from complications stemming from a life well lived. Born on May 18, 1952, in Premont, Texas, Roy brought joy and humor to all who knew him.
Roy was predeceased by his mother Aurora Ozuna Perez; his biological father; his brothers Ray (Alma) Perez, Richard Fowler, and Otho Glen Fowler Jr.; his sister Glenda “Glen” Perez; cousins Ruben Perez, Royal Perez, and Manuel Perez; and, as he would have wanted noted, “that damn dog!” (the affectionate nickname given to multiple dogs he swore he never wanted.)
He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Christine “Chris” (Balmer) Fowler; his children Tony Fowler, Penny Lane (Dusty) Arredondo, Brian Fowler, Margaret (Tom) Gilkerson, and John Pablo Fowler; his sister Shirley Batalla; cousin and dear friend Cebolla; and Otho Glen (Lisa) Fowler Sr., his father in name and practice who raised him with love and care. Roy also leaves behind several grandchildren including Celina (Chris) Dockham, Leyna Huston, and great-grandchildren Jaylah Scott, Jahmai Scott, and many others.
Roy spent many years living in both Ham Lake, Minnesota, and Bethel, Connecticut. He worked most of his professional life as a sales representative following his time as a touring audio technician with the Lantana Band. Roy loved watching old movies, listening to music, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and close friends.
In accordance with Roy’s wishes, a private cremation was held earlier this week. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, February 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation.
A livestream of the Celebration of Life will be available to those who wish to partake and unable to travel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate a donation to Brotherhood in Action of Bethel in memory of Roy.
