Rosemary Isacsson Obituary

Rosemary Duffy Isacsson died peacefully on January 5, 2023 at Danbury Regional Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Isacsson.

Rosemary Duffy Isacsson was born in 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to Rose Catherine McDevitt Duffy and Gerald Anthony Duffy. She attended Holy Name School and Hallahan High School. She was a nurse's aide at age 13 and left school at age 16 to work at Snellenburg's Dept. store in Philadelphia, PA to support the family. She also worked at Bell Telephone Co. and WT Grant's where she met her future husband. Rosemary and Raymond married in 1955 and were married for 51 years.

She raised her family in Pennsylvania, PA, Poughkeepsie, NY, Livonia, MI, and Rochester, NY. She then moved to Danbury, CT, where she remained for 53 years. Rosemary was a stay-at-home mother for 19 years after which she worked from 1974 until 2007 for the Danbury News Times Newspaper. She was a member of Danbury's St. Peter's Parish for 53 years.

Rosemary founded and directed the Connecticut Kids Classic Race; was a mentor in the Danbury Business Education Program; also volunteered her time for St. Peter's Church choir, Danbury Music Center, Ability Beyond, AARP Danbury Chapter, Comcast Channel 23, Dorothy Day Hospitality House, and Hancock Hall Nursing Home.

Rosemary is survived by her sons and daughters Raymond J. Isacsson III and his wife, Barbara of St. Augustine FL; Sean Isacsson of Shelton CT; Anne Marie Roeker of Danbury CT; Kevin Isacsson and his wife Estela, of Santa Clarita, CA; Gerald Isacsson and his wife Liza of Lake Elsinore, CA, Timothy Isacsson of New Milford CT; Rosemary Lindstrom and her husband Eric of Danbury CT and Trish Joseph and her husband Robert Ronan of Woodbury CT; grandchildren Sean Jr., Ryan, Kristen, Thomas, Patrick, Kevin Jr, Patrick, Nicole, Jessica, Sarah, Ashley, Elizabeth, Kate, Richard, Mark, Jacob and Eddie; great-grandchildren Hannah, Hallie, Ben, Scarlett, Julian, and Madeleine. Brothers and sisters Elizabeth Jovovich, Gerald Duffy and his wife Mickey, Elaine Smaltini and her husband Danny, Kathleen Diamond, Joe Duffy and his wife Barbara, and Jim Duffy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT.

There will be a Mass of celebration at St. Peter's Church on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10:30 AM, followed by a family reception and light refreshments in the church hall.
