Ronald Douglas Goedel passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, at Danbury Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1940, in Tompkins, New York.
Ronald dedicated many years of his life to working for the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Danbury. In addition to his public service, he built his own business as a scrapper, reflecting his strong work ethic and independent spirit.
He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Ronald was especially passionate about gardening, taking pride in growing beautiful roses, hollyhocks, zinnias, and sunflowers. He had a lively sense of humor, loved trivia, and was always ready to share a joke that could brighten anyone’s day. He also had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs.
Ronald is survived by his three daughters, Sherry Goedel, Sonia Goedel, and Marylee Goedel; his sister, Barbara Henchen; and his five grandchildren, Vanessa Cervin, Efrain Goedel, Toby Larson, Benjamin Moffet, and Benét Moffet. He also leaves behind two cherished great-grandchildren, Vera and Vivienne Cervin. He will be fondly remembered by his loyal dogs, Carilee and Nonya.
Ronald will be remembered for his warmth, humor, hardworking nature, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the gardens he tended, the laughter he created, and the lives he touched.
