Robert Marshall Wood passed away peacefully on January 15, 2021 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 1, 1941 in Ossining, NY to the late Dr. Marshall H. Wood and Marjory Lee Wood. He graduated from Ossining High School and Davis and Elkins College and did graduate work at the University of Bridgeport and The New School for Social Research. He served in the NY State National Guard for 6 years. He worked in personnel and finance at IBM in Armonk, NY and Southbury, CT for more than 35 years.
He was active in the community, coaching PAL soccer and volunteering at the Danbury Habitat for Humanity ReStore for many years. He loved animals, advocated for their safety and never met a dog he didn’t like! He taught Meridith and Hilary to appreciate and respect nature and the environment as much as he did. He was a tinkerer and collector of many things.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Patricia Raineri Wood; daughters Meridith (Jason Reno) and Hilary (Michael Primo), and granddaughter Tallulah Lee Primo; sisters Marsha Wood Carlson (Donnie) and Cynthia Wood, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
