Robert "Bobby" W. Vosburgh, aged 63, a dedicated firefighter, skilled carpenter, and beloved member of the Brookfield, CT community, passed away on October 20, 2023.
Born on February 11, 1960, Bobby was the son of Hilda M. Mannion and Robert W. Vosburgh, and he was the stepson of Daniel J. Penyak. Raised in Bethel and Danbury, CT, Bobby's journey was characterized by unwavering commitment and a profound sense of duty.
Bobby's early years led him to graduate from Danbury High School, where he began his path toward a life of service and craftsmanship. He devoted decades of his life to the Danbury Fire Department, where he selflessly put his life on the line, demonstrating dedication, bravery, and a deep commitment to protecting the community he loved.
Beyond his role as a firefighter and EMT, Bobby was a talented carpenter and the owner of Vosburgh Woodworking. His passion for woodworking was a testament to his creativity, craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail. One of his most notable achievements was the interior of the Danbury Irish Cultural Center on Lake Avenue, where he expertly combined dark and light woods with intricate inlays, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.
Bobby is survived by his siblings, Richard Vosburgh, Roberta Nassif, and Elizabeth Vosburgh Bockelmann, as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his selflessness and talent.
At this time, no formal services are scheduled, but there will be a gathering in Bobby's honor for friends and family in the near future. This gathering will provide an opportunity for loved ones to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual whose legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
