Robert Vincent Smith passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022 at his home in Bethel, CT while surrounded by his loving family. Robert, better known to his family and friends as Bob, was born on November 22, 1959 in Huntington, New York to Dorothy McShane Smith and the late Harry Smith. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Diane Smith, daughters and sons-in-law Faye Joseph (Harry Joseph) and Grace Nemergut (Adam Nemergut), and his granddaughter Jordan Grace Joseph.
Bob was a kindhearted and caring man always willing to help anyone in need. He had a love for photography, trains, and nature. Bob could often be found birdwatching, fishing, watching Jeopardy, and cheering on his favorite hockey team, the New York Rangers. By far, his favorite pastime was spending time with his pride and joy, his granddaughter Jordan.
Bob was a hardworking employee of F.C.I. Electrical and Pitney Bowes.
Bob is also survived by four siblings: Peggy Clarizio (Joe), Ann Marie Husk (Jim), James Smith, and Patty Schmid (Dave). Three sisters-in-law: Sandra Ginicola (William), Lucille Ofiero (John), Jo-Ann DellaVentura, and brother-in-law Michael DellaVentura (Cheryle). As well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Bob is predeceased by his brother Tommy Smith and brother-in-law Joseph DellaVentura (survived by his wife Cathy).
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday December 31, 2022 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home from 12 to 2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:30 p.m.
