Bob was raised in Katonah NY and that is where he met his future wife, Carol, on a blind date arranged by their friend. As soon as Carol laid eyes on Bob, she immediately knew he was the man she would marry. They soon married in 1973, and happily raised their family in their hometown of Katonah, New York. Bob, Carol, and three sons all graduated from John Jay High School.
Robert worked as a computer technician for many years and was skilled at growing with the ever-changing technology. He even used his expertise after retirement to become his family’s memory keeper, spending much of his free time organizing family digitizing pictures into online albums that make it easy for the whole family to look back on their happy memories. He was sure to start a new album with each grandchild so that he could watch them grow through the years.
Robert is a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who love him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Carol, he is survived by their three sons: Erik Schmitt, Keith Schmitt, and Michael Schmitt. Six grandchildren: Jordana, Jackson, Juliette, Quinn, Jemma, and Jeannie.
