Robert “Bobby” Dean Fields, 69, of Danbury, CT. passed away Monday, November 18th 2024 at home surrounded by family. Bobby was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and retired Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Loews Corporation, New York City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma and father, Samuel, brothers John and Billy, sisters Cathy Marie Justice and Sandra Dee Sherman. He is survived by wife Valerie (née Ventura), and four daughters Michele Marie Schaefer (Jim), Lisa Anne Fields (Tyler Mills), Diane Nicole Mellars (David) and Christina Elizabeth Hordejuk (Damian); four grandchildren Lucas Schaefer, Hannah, Noah, and Harper Mellars; brothers Pat (Debbie) of Versailles, KY; Tim (Lisa) and Bruce of Louisville, KY; and Sammy (Tara) of Clay City, KY; and sister Frances Ann Schmittler of Louisville, KY.
Bobby was forever thankful his family made his final days the best of his life.

Bobby’s remains will be cremated and returned to his family. A Celebration of Life to be scheduled at another time.

During Bob’s battle with cancer, he had the time to write the above obituary, once again easing the burden for his family. We wanted to add the following:
Bobby was the best husband, father and Papa that anyone could ask for. He always put his family first. He worked tirelessly to support us to be sure we were well cared for. His grandchildren adored him, and he loved them more than anything in the world.
