Richard Griff Pendergrass, 77, of Danbury, CT, has passed on as of July 30th, 2024.
He was born in Fort Payne, AL in 1946 to Honora (Ferris) and Griff Pendergrass, and spent most of his childhood in New York City. Richard graduated from Regis High School before enlisting in the Marine Corps and moving to a base in Southern California, where he met his wife, Carolyn. He and his family moved to Danbury when he took a job in NYC as a systems analyst at a major stock trading company, Instinet. He was also instrumental in the fight against the dreaded Y2K bug at that company.
Together, Richard and Carolyn worked hard to provide a good life for each other and their daughters, and spent many family vacations traveling through the continental United States. He enjoyed coffee with his wife, dad jokes, video games of all kinds, and the 24-hour news cycle.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Kelly Ann and Christina Rose.
Per his wishes, there will not be a service. However, if you would like to remember him in a donation, donations to The American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
