Richard J. Anstett Sr.,78, of Danbury, Connecticut, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 31, 2023, under the care of Hospice at Civita Nursing Home, formerly known as Western Rehab, in Danbury, CT.
Richard was born on May 13, 1945 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Beirne) Anstett. He is survived by his children Richard (Kristen) Anstett Jr. of Redding CT; Colleen Anstett of Morrisonville NY; and Michael (Chrystalle) Anstett of Bethel, CT. Grandfather of Maxwell, Sheppard, Grace and Abigail. Sister, Gail (James) O’Connor of White Plains, NY, his former wife and mother of his three children, Gail Wolcott, of Morrisonville, NY, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In 1963, Richard graduated from De Witt Clinton High School in the Bronx and continued his education at Fordham University.
For more than 50 years, he worked as a computer analyst and consultant. Starting his career with Con Edison and later establishing his own firm, Solutions Unlimited.
Besides his love for computers and technology he had a passion for the arts throughout his life that included drawing, painting and photography. He especially enjoyed making gifts of his artwork for family and friends. He was also an accomplished musician who enjoyed playing and composing music.
His family is forever grateful for his compassionate care he received from the nurses and staff at Civita Nursing Home, formerly known as Western Rehab, who went beyond to provide comfort to him and his family.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
