Raul Antonio Cruz

Raul Antonio Cruz, of Danbury, CT, passed away unexpectedly on August 27,2024. He was 62years old. Raul was a fighter; he never gave up. He fought and won his first battle with prostate cancer, unfortunately the cancer came back this time it was bone cancer, and amazingly he kept fighting never gave up hope and never complained.

Raul was born January 6,1962 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, son of Leida Cora and the late Victor Sanchez Cruz. Raul found his forever love in 2007, Maria Robles. Together they have spent the last 17 years cherishing every moment together, being each other’s safe space and confident. Raul was an avid Yankies fan. He lived for his family, always being there to support them in all there life goals. He enjoyed cooking and especially BBQing. No matter what Raul was going through he made sure to smile and never complain. 

Raul is not only survived by his mother Leida, and his beloved partner Maria, but also his son Raul Cruz II, his siblings; Leyda C. Cruz, Barbara R. Cruz (Juan Rosado), Ester M. Cruz, his many nieces, nephews, Godson’s and in-laws all of which he cherished

A Celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday September 5,2024 from 10am to 11:30am with a service beginning at 11:30am at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 south street). Interment will follow at Woster Cemetery(20 Elsworth Cemetery).
