Randolph “Randy” Keeler passed away on October 10th , 2025, after a tragic accident at work. He was born on May 12th , 1956, to Seymour Keeler and Myrna Roberts, in Norwalk, Connecticut.
In his younger years, Randy enjoyed going fishing, hunting and working on race cars. As he grew older, his hobbies changed- but his love for the outdoors never did. He loved his vegetable garden and traveling. He had a particular fondness for cruising; he and Ginny loved taking off to whichever new island the sea would carry them.
Randy was extremely hardworking and had an old school work ethic. He worked his entire life in the construction business, as a contractor for Richter & Badaracco.
When he wasn’t working, he could be found “helping out” at A&W Automotive with Robert and friends.
He also enjoyed his evenings at Rogers Park, cheering on his Community Helping Hands Softball team. For the last 15 years, he was a fan, sideline coach and a beloved part of the team.
Above all, Randy was a family man. He loved his wife, kids and grandchildren. He was always there for his grandchildren, whether cheering them on at softball, football, basketball, or cheerleading events, or even helping to catch his granddaughter’s chickens. He was the first to show up and clean up the mess, when family failed an attempt at a plumbing or construction project. He was very proud of his family.
Randy was a simple and humble man and took the time to enjoy the little things in life. He was a man of few words, but held an unmistakable presence that filled the room. His family and friends will remember him fondly for his strong will, kindness, humor, hard work and straightforward personality.
Randy is survived by his loving spouse, Ginny; as well as his children: Jessie Castro (Ñeco), Kierra Southern (Mike), and Jason Keeler (from Stop & Shop). His memory is carried on by his grandchildren: Kiana, Anjalyce, Mikey, and Ahmaya; in addition, he is survived by his sister: Sharon Kilton (Boyd).
Randy was pre-deceased by his parents, Seymour and Mynra, as well as his brother Danny.
A special thank you to Rocky and crew, first responders and Danbury Hospital staff, for doing everything that you could.
Randy, we all miss you and love you, always and forever!
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Randy at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St.) on Wednesday, October 15th , from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
