Peter J. Koval, of New Milford, CT, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family on March 1, 2025. He was 80 years old.
Born on June 17, 1944 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Koval. Following graduation from Tech School, Pete began his lifelong career as a plumber in 1970.
Pete married the love of his life Stella Scalzo on August 1, 1970. Their love for each other was unmatched. Stella predeceased Peter on May 29, 2024.
Pete was a hard worker; he never gave up and was well known for his hard work and dedication. He loved snowmobiling, golfing and gardening. Pete loved music, especially the oldies, you could often find him dancing to his 50’s or 60’s music.
Pete is survived by his daughters; Cheryl Pierce and Joy Scozzafava and her husband Henry, his grandchildren; Bryan Jamerson, Kyle Pickle, Matthew and Tania Scozzafava and Tonya Hughes, his great grandchildren Anthony Jamerson and Sophia Scozzafava, his sister; Barbara Robinson and her husband Robert, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved Stella, his grandson Henry Scozzafava Jr and his siblings; ‘Sis’ and Joe.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements. To send the family condolences please visit www.danburymemorial.com
