Pauline Marie Sanicola passed away on January 25th, 2026. She was born to Edward Burns and Julia Wasilewski on May 4th, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York.
Pauline was known for her strong will, independence, and the lasting impression she left on those around her. She was a mother, grandmother, and friend whose spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered in many ways, and her life remains part of the story of the family she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Pauline is survived by her daughter: Tracy Sanicola Galbraith; her grandchildren: John E. Galbraith, Caitlin R. Galbraith, Samantha M. Galbraith, and Jasmine Sanicola. Additionally, her memory is carried ever forward by her great-grandchild: Asher Santiago, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She has gone on to reunite with her brother William Burns; her children: John E. Sanicola, and Michael J. Sanicola.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT.). The burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New York the following day: Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00am.
