On the evening of December 14, 2024, Paul Donald Boucher passed away peacefully due to natural causes in Hamden, CT. Paul was 92 years old.
Paul was born on September 13, 1932 to Paul Raymond and Cecile Elizabeth (nee Martel) Boucher in Winooski, VT. He was the eldest of six siblings. Paul attended Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT. Paul proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, including frontline combat as an army infantryman. On April 30, 1955, Paul married Beverly Purinton at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Together, they raised four children. Paul worked as a mechanical designer for IBM and Pitney Bowes. He lived most of his adult life in Sandy Hook, CT and then moved to Hamden in 2014. Paul enjoyed many activities, including drawing, painting, gardening, and ballroom dancing. He will be remembered for his convivial spirit, generosity, zest for life, and cringe-worthy dad jokes.
Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly, daughters Robin Retalis and Cheryl Boucher, and siblings Doris Schlemmer, Shirley Boulais, Frances Boucher, and Blanche Parzuchowski. He is survived by his daughter Karen and her husband Mark Dwinells of Danbury; son Kurt and his wife Nicole (nee Desjeunes) of Hamden; brother Richard Boucher; grandchildren Amanda, Tyler, Nicholas, Katherine, and Raymond; and great-grandchildren Sawyer, Hadley, Alice, Liam, and Michael.
A Graveside Service at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury will be held in the springtime; details will be posted here at a future date.
