Nancy W Fischer, 91, widow of the late Dr. Paul H Fischer, DDS, of New Fairfield CT passed away recently in Danbury Hospital after a short illness. She was born on 12/20/32 in Bethel, CT, to the late Michael A. and Helen (Nellie) White.
She graduated from St. Peter’s School and Danbury High School with high honors, was a cheerleader, a lifeguard, and vice-president of student council. She graduated from St Vincent’s School of Nursing in Bridgeport, CT, and from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in the Dental Management Certificate Program. She was a dental assistant and office manager of her husband’s dental practice in Fairfield, and New Fairfield, CT. She also worked as a nursing administrator for the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association and for Almost Family. She volunteered for PTA and Girls Scouts in leadership roles in New Fairfield as well as for charitable events. She enjoyed boating, water-skiing, prior summers on Candlewood Isle, as well as aerobics, swing music and dancing, gardening, decorating, and fashion. She was kind, generous, and devoted to her family and friends.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by her daughter, Karen Fischer-Perkins, MS, LPC . She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Paul H. Fischer, daughter Paula Fischer-Gillotti RT, and three grandsons, David Paul, Justin, and Matthew. She also was predeceased by her parents, brothers Michael and Raymond White, and sisters Carolyn White Conklin and Kathleen White Kelly. She is survived by nieces, nephews, granddaughters in law Barbara Ferris-Gillotti and Danielle Mazza, as well as sisters and brothers in-law.
A wake will be held on Monday 11/ 18/ 24 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South St, Danbury, CT between 6 PM until 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 11/19 / 24 , at St Edward’s Church at 11:00 AM. She will be sadly missed.
