Mrudula Subil Shah (known affectionately as Madhu by her family and friends), of Southbury, CT, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home and loving family on November 17, 2023. She was 83 years old.
Born on September 3, 1940 in Ahmedabad, India, daughter of the late Chandulal and Champa Shah. Mrudula married the love of her life Subil Shah on April 26, 1969. The two were inseparable and each other’s pillars of strength for the last 54 years.
After Subil established a home for Mrudula and their daughter they joined him in the United States in 1974. They lived in Hoboken, NJ and Jersey City, NJ for many years. Mrudula not only raised her two children, Toral and Shridhar, she also built and ran her own custom Jewelry business. Mrudula and Subil enjoyed traveling the world together, checking locations off their bucket lists. She enjoyed the company of people, cooking, and entertaining others. Her greatest passion and love in life was her family. She was a fearless and courageous person and source of comfort, strength and inspiration for those who had the privilege to know her.
Mrudula is not only survived by her beloved husband Subil, but also her two children; Toral Untz and her husband William of Southbury, CT, Shridhar Shah and his wife Katherine of Southbury, CT, her three grandchildren; Lucinda, Henry and Wesley, her brother Ajit and his wife Hema, her sister Nayna and her husband Mahesh, her sister Virbala, of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India and many friends and family around the world.
A private service will be held on Tuesday November 21st. Please share a memory or condolence so that the family may look back and remember all who loved her. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
