Mona Lisa Russo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away, on August 20, 2024 surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering devotion. Born on July 3, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to Olof Nelson and Mary LoPresti, Mona's life was a testament to the power of family, love, and togetherness.

Mona shared over 55 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Frank Russo. Their union was a true partnership, defined by deep affection, mutual respect, and a shared journey that touched the lives of everyone around them. Together, they built a family that was the center of Mona's world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Mona is survived by her three devoted children: Sandra Russo, Charlen Russo, and Frank Russo Jr, Wendy Russo Her son-in-law, John Knight, her brother, Wayne Nelson, along with her sister in law Marta, and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Russo, and his wife, Lisa Russo, her niece Jessica Russo were all deeply touched by her caring nature and loving spirit.

As a grandmother, Mona was a source of endless love and joy for her grandchildren: Carissa Henry, Anthony Henry, Mackenzie Ahearn, Lexus Ahearn, Devin Thomas, Brianna Thomas, Niar Brown, Javonte Russo, and Niema Parker. Her great-grandchildren, Mila Henry, Karlie Henry, Casen Henry, Shyla Thomas, and Nianna Brown, brought her immense happiness and filled her heart with pride.

Mona was predeceased by her beloved aunts, Grace "Dolly" Panetta and Norma Smigowski, and her Uncle Phillip “Philly“ LoPresti with whom she shared countless cherished memories. She was also deeply close to her Aunt Angela “Angie“ Radeschi and many more with whom she enjoyed many special moments. These bonds were a source of comfort and joy throughout her life.

In her retirement, Mona found peace and joy at her condo in Florida, where she spent countless hours enjoying the sunshine and the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her infectious smile, her wonderful laugh, and her incredible ability to bring people together. Everyone who met Mona was touched by her kindness and left with a warm feeling in their hearts.

Mona was the glue that held her family together, always putting others before herself and ensuring that everyone felt loved and cared for. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel special, and her warmth and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mona Lisa Russo will be remembered as a beautiful soul whose love, laughter, and light will continue to shine in the lives of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the generations, and her memory will be cherished forever.
