Michaelina Placella of Danbury, died on June 16, 2024 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Danbury on December 10, 1924, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Filomena Pacific. Wife of the late Rocco Placella Sr., Mickey will be missed by her two sons Rocky Placella Jr. and Kevin Placella and his wife Linda. She was loved by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great, great grand-child. She has joined her four sisters, one brother, and daughter-in-law in heaven.
Six months shy of living a hundred years in Danbury, Mickey grew up there, married, raised a family, worked, volunteered in local politics, and was an active member of St. Peter’s church. When Mark Boughton was Mayor he declared December 10, Mickey Placella day
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, amazing cooking and mad Nintendo skils. Mickey loved her family more than anything and her legacy will be celebrated in the generations she left behind.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Main Street at 10:30am on Friday, June 21st. Following the service the interment will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
