Michael A. Mouning 58, passed on from this life on Sunday February 16, 2026.
Michael was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut and was educated in the Danbury public school system. Where he made some lifelong friends and he cherished those friendships for life. He had a passion for life and a contagious laugh that could brighten anyone’s day. Michael had a knack for telling jokes and always knew how to make people smile. Michael will be remembered for his kind heart and love of music. Michael loved music the way some people love breathing. A song could change his whole mood; Michael would send a special singing happy birthday message to his mother and his nieces Desiree and Jessica on their birthdays.
His love of singing won him several competitions such as “Live at the Apollo in New City and the Danbury Mall American Idol”. He also won some smaller singing shows. His family loved to watch and hear him sing.
Michael was an avid sports fan he loved the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Commanders football teams. While he was watching the games he would be on the telephone with either Charles or Doug heavily debating about who was the better team. Because he loved those Commanders.
Michael is survived by his beloved mother Elder Emma (Rae) Clobert, brother Prophet Christopher Mouning: sister Kim and husband Shelton Baskin, sister Colette Smith, Ronnia Clobert (Pixie)step sister, Ronald Jr Clobert stepbrother and sister-in-law Dawn White. God mother Annie Pearl Armstrong and God sister Lynette
Michael did not have his own children he consider his nieces and nephews enough for him when they were little he would tell his sister Kim take them all home I want peace and quiet. He was a loving uncle to Jamell, Reggie, Desiree, Jessica and Markis and a host of great nieces and nephews. Three aunts Jean, Mary and Letty: one uncle Frederick and a host of cousins.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Ronald Clobert; brother Reginald McGee Sr.: and grandmother Classie B. Mouning.
Michael you left us too soon, but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on February 27, 2026 at Victory Christian Center from 10am-11am with a service beginning at 11am. Interment will follow at Wooster Cemetery.
