Merlyn Alutaya Concepcion

Merlyn Concepcion, a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 60. Born on May 6, 1962, Merlyn will be remembered for her warm smile, loving heart, and deep faith.

Merlyn was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Manuel, who passed away a year ago. She cherished their loving bond and their time spent together. Merlyn was survived by her children, Mary Ruth (Kevin), Maria Elisa, Joshua (Krystal), and Joseph Jacob. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Kelsey and delighted in spending time with her. Merlyn was known for her thoughtfulness, always going out of her way to help those in need. Her infectious laughter and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Merlyn was a devout Catholic and a woman of unwavering faith, always leading her family in prayer and exemplifying the values of her religion. In her professional life, Merlyn worked as a nanny, devoting much time and love to Voltaire, Lena, and Surg. She brought her kindness and generosity to her work, and her love for the children in her care was evident to all who knew her. Merlyn enjoyed gardening, cooking, and maintaining her household, and she took great pride in these passions.

Despite life's challenges, Merlyn always had a forgiving spirit, a testament to her deep faith. Not a day went by that she didn't pray the Holy Rosary and give thanks to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Merlyn's spirit will be forever remembered as a guiding light to those who were blessed to have known her.

A Celebration of life gathering will be held on Monday April 10, 2023 from 5pm-8pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at St. Peter's Church (104 Main Street, Danbury) at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Wooster Cemetery (20 Ellsworth Avenue, Danbury).
