Melissa Kreitz Mirabello of Brookfield was taken into the loving hands of her heavenly Father October 13, 2023 at Danbury Hospital.
She was born June 20, 1978 in Allentown Pa., daughter of Joseph F. Kreitz and Marilyn (Max) Kreitz. From the very beginning, Melissa brought immense joy, love, and laughter to our lives.
Melissa grew up in Ridgefield, CT. She achieved the silver level in scouting. She was confirmed at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1997 with multiple honors. Melissa attended Gordon College and graduated from Western Connecticut State University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in English and subsequently an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources. During her time at WCSU, “Mel” was a proud Sister of Kappa Chi Alpha Sorority and remained an active alumni.
She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. Her kindness and empathy touched the lives of everyone she met. Upon her passing Melissa’s organs were donated to help those in need.
Melissa had a passion for reading, spending time with family and friends and cherished the time spent watching Logan (nephew) and Taylor (niece) play sports.
Melissa was a recently baptized member of the nondenominational Faith Christian Church in New Milford, where she was active in the Women's Group and Bible Study. Melissa was an enthusiastic Buffalo Bills fan and loved skiing at Holiday Valley and good food.
She is survived by her parents; her brother Jeffery W. Kreitz, his wife Molly, niece Taylor and nephew Logan.
