Mary Ann Harrison

Mary Ann Harrison of Danbury, CT was called home by the Lord on June 21,2025. She was born on February 12, 1952 in Bethel, North Carolina to the late George and Violene Harris.

Mary and her family moved from North Carolina to Danbury, CT her senior year of high school.  Mary graduated from Danbury High.  She was employed at Kimberly Clark for 36 years as a machine operator before she retired in 2009.  After retiring Mary liked going on bus trips to the casino with her sisters and daughters.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and Gigi.  She loved and dedicated herself to her family, they were her #1 priority.  Mary loved cooking for her family. Her grandchildren often called on her to make their favorite foods, and she did it.  On warm days Mary would be found sitting on her front porch enjoying the weather.   She would often ride up to her late sister (Jean) house on nice days; and the sisters would sit outside, talk and sometimes throw something  on the grill.  She was an avid gardener, having plants she had grown in her house for over 20 years.  During the summer Mary always planted tomatoes, and always shared them with her family. Mary wore a serious face, but underneath she was a warm, dependable, and thoughtful woman. She had a smile that spoke volumes without a word.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy to her daughters: Blondell and Kelly Harrison. Grandchildren: Dominique and Marcus Harrison; Xavier and Keirra Addison.  Great-grandchildren: Aydin, Amira and Avery Harrison. Godson, Monte’ Menzies.  Siblings: George M. Harris of Danbury,CT, Frances Koehnke of Virginia Beach, VA, Carolyn Harris of Danbury, CT, James E. Harris of Hartford, CT. And many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.  She is predeceased by stepfather, Robert Williams, brother John H Smith and sister Jean Harris.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.   

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Mary’s honor on Friday, July 11th, at Victory Christian Center (23 Eden Dr., Danbury, CT 06810) from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a service to begin at 12:00pm.
