Marianne Gallacher

Marianne Gallacher passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on October 21, 2021 at Regional Hospice in Danbury CT. surrounded by her family.   Marianne was born on August 30, 1959 in Bronx, NY to the late William F. Lewis and Ellen Halpin Lewis.  Marianne was the beloved wife of Thomas Gallacher for over 37 years.

Mare was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother.  Her happiest role in life was being a mother and Marema to her granddaughters.  Marianne treasured her many friends.  Her close relationships turned those friends into an extended family.  Mare loved to decorate homes with friends and family making every space brighter and more cheerful.  Her daily routine included walking miles on the Gulf of Mexico beaches near her home in Florida.  Mare’s career included working at IBM, the GAP and Old Navy as a sales associate. 

In addition to her beloved husband, Thomas, Marianne is survived by two daughters: Nicole Kunkel (husband Tyler) and Alicia Martire (husband Corey), her mother Ellen Lewis, Three siblings: sister Jeannine Wool (husband Walter), brothers William Lewis, and Paul Lewis (wife Kathleen), as well as two adored granddaughters: Harper Kunkel and Avery Martire.  She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

Marianne is pre-deceased by her father William Lewis, sister Suzanne Lewis, brother Joseph Lewis, and grand-nephew Wyatt Bowen.  

A Catholic Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake, NY.  on Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:30 AM.    A private celebration of life will follow.
