Maria Margarita Rodriguez

Maria Margarita Rodriguez passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025 in the comfort of her own home. She was 90 years old.

Maria was born on June 9, 1935 in Las Placetas, Dominican Republic, daughter of the late Leopoldo Rodriguez and Albertina Espinal. 

Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was devoted to the Lord and found great joy in prayer. Maria was a strong and kind woman who dedicated her life to helping others, including serving as a teacher in the Dominican Republic and supporting family members as they followed her steps and immigrated to the United States.

Maria is lovingly survived by her children; Deise Khawaja (Basharet), Ramon Nunez (Denise), Bernardo Nunez (Carmen), Juan Nunez (Katie Hernandez) and Joselyn Colon as well as her 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. 

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2025 from 5pm-8pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (29 Golden Hill Road, Danbury). Interment will follow at Wooster Cemetery (20 Ellsworth Avenue, Danbury).
