Maria E. Antal

Maria Antal, 73, of Danbury, CT, passed away on July 29, 2023. She was born on November 28, 1949 in Szentendre, Hungary.  The daughter of Stephen and Maria Nemeth.

Maria is survived by her loving family, including her son Zoltan Antal, daughter Adrienne Antal and her grandchildren; all from Danbury. In addition, to her sister Erszébet Tarján, nephews and several relatives of Hungary.  She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Antal, her 2  brothers Lajos and Péter, as well as 1 sister, Rosa.

Maria enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and baking authentic Hungarian meals/desserts for her family and especially enjoyed watching UCONN Husky’s basketball. Prior to retirement, Maria dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was compassionate and kind to the lives of those she cared for. Maria's dedication to her career and her caring nature were mirrored in her personal life. She was a beloved wife, mother, friend, and sister. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside ceremony to honor Maria's life will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 1pm at St.  Peter’s cemetery (section 16) in Danbury, CT. 

Maria Antal will be remembered for her kind heart, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to her family. May her memory bring comfort and solace to all who mourn her loss.
