Margarita Rivera

Margarita Rivera of Danbury, CT, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital with her family by her side. She was 74 years old.

Born on March 17, 1949 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, daughter of Rosalia Santiago and the late Luis Torres. She was predeceased by her husband Carmelo Rivera on July 11, 1991.

Margarita enjoyed listening to a variety of music, she enjoyed the difficult task of completing puzzles and her greatest enjoyment came from crocheting, she enjoyed crocheting for her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Margarita is survived by her loving children; Carmelo Rivera Jr and Lizandra Rivera, her grandchildren; Elando, Dylanie and Julianna, Arturo Martinez Jr and Frank Guzman and her great granddaughter Elena.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday October 10, 2023 from 9am-11am at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street). A graveside service will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery (Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury) at 11:30am. Interment will immediately follow.
