Margaret L. “Peggy” Bertozzi, 79, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022 at Danbury Hospital with her devoted son by her side. Margaret was born on March 30, 1943 in New York, New York to the late Frederick Roew and Irene Flannery Roew. Beloved wife to the late Dwight R. Bertozzi.
Margaret, best known to all as Peggy, was devoted fully to her family and friends. A Brewster Central High School participant. Starting work at a young age, she took jobs in a series of hospitals such as Wingdale State, Southbury Training School and Mt. Kisco. After having children Peggy moved around neighboring area towns, working as a waitress but eventually settling in Bethel, CT where she would know everyone, and everyone knew her. Having an almost 35+ year career in the restaurant business, working at Whitlocks, Front Street and Jonathon’s. Prior to retirement, Margaret was a long time caregiver for Jamie Erwin, whom she cared for and thought of highly. A breast cancer survivor of many years. Peggy will be missed terribly by all who were honored to know her.
Margaret is survived by her beloved son Thomas H. Hall, stepson David Bertozzi (Linda), stepdaughter Carol Ann Kuczko (Gerard), and stepson Dwight R. Bertozzi Jr. (Esmeralda). Grandchildren: Paul T. Rodgers, Anna M. Hall, Alexander T. Hall, William R. Dixon, Carly Bertozzi, Hannah Bertozzi, Rebecca Kuczko, Samantha Kuczko, David Bertozzi, and Jaqueline Berozzi. Great-grandson, Hayden D. Dixon. Siblings: Sue Talbot, John Trunk, and James Trunk. Sisters in law: Elizabeth Octavio and Mary Ann Molinaro. She is also survived by her beloved pet companion, her poodle Charlie. In addition to her husband, Dwight, she is predeceased by her daughter Darlene Hall Rodgers, sister Mary Ellen Trunk, sister Irene Trunk, and sister-in-law Deloris Michael.
