Marco Raymond Cicala, of New Milford, CT, died peacefully with his family by his side on June 20, 2024 at Danbury Hospital Center. He was 70 years old.
Born on November 6, 1953, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Patsy Sr. and Tillie (Kalfel) Cicala. Marco was born in Danbury, raised in Brookfield, and lived in New Milford, CT. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University, and he proudly owned and operated his own business, Wells Valley Construction.
Boating was one of Marco’s greatest joys. He could often be found on Candlewood Lake motoring or sailing towards his next adventure. He also enjoyed his Sunday Morning Pontoon rides with his Club Babaloo Members. He also had a passion for restoring and showing wooden boats. Marco had an affinity for decadent food and was known for his discernable palate- if he was not the one cooking. He loved his farm in New Milford and enjoyed fixing items around it while following his moto ‘7 screws for 1 hole’, everything he fixed may not have looked the best but never broke again. He loved animals and could be found with Miss Minnie MooMoo in his lap, overlooking his farm with a cigar in hand. Marco was often sought out for his knowledge, sense of humor and insight to the complexities of life. He believed in the importance of family and understood when to push, when to pull, and when to just let life take its course. Above all other, the thing that mattered the most and was his most treasured possession was his daughter Tess. He could light up a room with the joy he found in every adventure she took, and always encouraged her to keep living. She was the sunrise and sunset that he cherished the most in his life.
Marco is survived by his beloved daughter, Tess Cicala, his brother; Patsy and his wife Diane Lynn Cicala, his sister; Paula and her husband John Summerlin, his nieces and nephews; Nicholas Cicala, Steven Cicala, Jesse (Stephanie) Summerlin, Caitlin (William) Keenan and Elana (Tommy) Ferrari, many cousins, and his life partner and favorite partner in-crime, Roberta Anderson. He was predeceased by his parents, and his beloved boopie-head, Gina Louise.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2024 from 11am-1pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home located at 117 South Street, Danbury, CT 06810.
