Manuel S. Concepcion passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT while surrounded by his loving family. Manuel was born on May 22, 1958 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines to the late Daniel Concepcion and Rosita de los Santos. Beloved husband of Merlyn Alutaya Concepcion. Manuel was a caring and very spiritual man, who was devoted to serving God faithfully throughout his life.
In addition to his beloved wife, Merlyn, Manuel is well-loved by his five children: daughter Mary Ruth Selke (husband Kevin), daughter Maria Elisa Concepcion (daughter Duchess), son Joshua Concepcion (wife Krystal), son Joseph Jacob Concepcion and daughter Mary Grace Concepcion (mom Evelyn). He was also close to his five siblings and other relatives: Daniel Jr. Concepcion, Eddie Concepcion, Josephine Concepcion, Marilou Gonzales, Marilyn Anciro, Ivory Wilson (goddaughter) and Azucena Concepcion (sister-in-law). His predeceased children were Anna May Concepcion and Manolito Concepcion.
Manuel, also known as Manny or Weng to his family and friends, had a humble yet very satisfying life. His life’s desires were so simple. He was fond of cooking Filipino food for the family and finds gardening very enjoyable, too. Running errands and merely doing other household chores are considered Manny’s passions. He enjoyed grocery shopping, walking their dog every morning and mowing the lawn. In his spare time, he is often seen by his family watching local Filipino news and other Youtube videos. He loved listening to Christian songs and unfailingly attended Holy Mass every Sunday. In fact, he started to be a missionary after he got married. He also had a very active lifestyle, his favorite sports were bowling, billiard, table tennis and chess. During his younger days, he loved cycling and playing basketball. He often played Nintendo Wii and darts with his children in the basement, too.
One of Manny’s greatest accomplishments in life was being a father. His family is gratified to have him be remembered as the best provider and protector, the most cheerful giver, the most responsible father, the sweetest papa and the world’s greatest dad ever. As for his friends and colleagues, he will be reminisced as the most hardworking and very supportive person they have ever known.
