A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mabel Lewin aged 80 years of age, of Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024.
She was born in Green Park district in Clarendon, Jamaica in 1943 to Carmita Alison and Allan Lewin. She lived in Green Park for several years before moving to Kingston to live with her sister for a while before migrating to the United States in 1983 with her children. She worked at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for nearly 30 years.
Mabel will always be remembered for her kind and loving ways, her abiding faith in the Lord, and her infectious laughter. We couldn’t have asked for a better mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We will miss Mabel every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. Mabel is survived by her children, Logan, Claude, Trevor, and Karen; grandchildren Lauren, Kevin, Ethan, Leah, Bryson, and Kyle; sister Dorthy; brother Tilson; and her nieces and nephew.
Her homegoing service will be held on March 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Danbury Memorial, 117 South Street, Danbury, Connecticut, 06810. Laid to Rest at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Avenue, Danbury Connecticut.
