Lorenzo Hernandez passed away suddenly December 11, 2020. He was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico along with 13 siblings.
He was a loving, humble, hardworking, and selfless man whose main goal in life was to make those around him smile. Lorenzo had a passion for all things gardening. During the summer he and his son would plant a vegetable garden and decorate the house with beautiful flowers. He enjoyed bird watching from his breakfast nook near the deck. He set up a beautiful floral area with a bird feeder and often sent videos to his family to show the variation of birds that would stop by. There was a constant battle between him and the other furry critters who would try to eat the food from the bird feeder, one would always try to outsmart the other.
Lorenzo was widely known and loved by customers because of his upbeat and positive personality at his longtime employer at a flower shop in Wilton, CT. He was a dedicated and affectionate husband and father. Before his passing he made a heart shaped wreath for his wife as a symbol of their love and crafted a handmade garland for his daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cecilia and his two children Daisy and Lorenzo Jr as well as ten siblings. He will be sorely missed and will be always remembered by his kindness and positivity.
Visitation services are to be held privately by the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 21, 2020 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel (15 Pepper St, Monroe, CT 06468) at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Sandy Hook, CT.
