Leelamma Williams

Leelamma Williams of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday January 27, 2023. She was 91 years old.

Born on January 19, 1932, in Kottayam, India, daughter of the late Kuruvilla P Kuruvilla and Sosamma Kuruvilla,  Leelamma was married to the love of her life John J. Williams for almost 75 years. Together, they moved to the United States in 1984 to raise their family.

Leelamma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and being around people. Leelamma was a generous person who was also there to lend a hand. Leelamma worked at Danbury Pharmacal for several years.

Mrs. Williams is not only survived by her loving John of 74 years, but also her 6 children and their spouses: Perly Mathew (Abraham Mathew Jr) of Danbury, Joseph Williams Perth (Omana Williams) of Australia, Judy Varghese (Korah Varghese) of Danbury, Jerry Williams ( Nancy Williams) of Canberra, Australia, Joe Williams (Suja Williams) of Danbury, and Jacob Williams ( Zeena Williams) of Danbury, her 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her brothers; Dr. P.K. Kuruvilla, Rev. P.K. Sunny and John Kuruvilla. She was predeceased by her sister Kunjamma Thomas.

A Celebration of life gathering will be held at Christ Church of Connecticut at (36A Padanaram Rd, Danbury CT) on Friday February 3, 2023, from 5:30pm-8:00pm. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday February 4, 2023 at Brookfield First Assembly of God Church (133 Junction Rd, Brookfield, CT) at 9am. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery (Lake Ave Ext. Danbury, CT).
